Hi Shenanigan Enthusiasts,

Oh my goodness, shenanigans, shenanigans, and more shenanigans around the funny farm this week! Lucy, Moose, and Waylon continue to savor their poopsicles. The goats are head butting, Rowdy and the ‘pacas have been running wild clicking up their heels in the wind and sweet Betty and June love their snorts and snuggles. All and all never a dull moment.

 

Snow keeps falling, the sun keeps shining, and the wind comes and goes. It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas! We finally got our Christmas tree up! Rowdy and the whole gang watched with curiosity as we trimmed it up to get it inside the house. If Rowdy could he would be in the house too. Actually, everyone would! As I cranked up the Christmas tunes and hung the lights with cheer, and gloves (the tree it a pokey one!) it made me smile every time I walked by the window and saw Rowdy watching my every move. I so wonder what he is thinking. My heart is full.

 

STAND BY ME

In my moments of reflection while shoveling sh*t and talking God this week, as usual I had tunes singing in my pocket. As I take in the blessings around me, there are always a few songs I recognize are little messages to pay attention to. I know I am being guided by something greater than myself. As the song STAND BY ME began to play a herd of elk passed by the fence. Magic to celebrate. I reflected on how they look out for one another. They travel in herds, while the majority take time to eat and rest there are always a few that stand guard and look out for predators. They stand by each other. My Church.

I can’t say it’s true that I won’t cry. I know you will cry too. We all need to cry sometimes but how lucky are we to stand by the people we love when it feels like the mountains are crumbling into the sea. We will all have hard seasons. I am so grateful for the strength I have found in a tribe that stands by me. I am grateful to pay their love forward by standing by them and others when they need it. 

 

FIRE IN MY SOUL

 The two most important days in our lives are the day we are born and the day we figure out WHY. Our purpose, the THING that lights a fire in our soul. I feel like mine is to thrive helping others THRIVE. I am having so much fun following my heart sharing inspirations from the funny farm, sharing ordinary people’s extraordinary stories, and living each day on purpose. Does that mean I have it all figured out? NOPE! It means, I know perspective is EVERYTHING. I believe our experience of life is 10%-ish what happens to us and 90%-ish how we CHOOSE to respond to the blessings and the lessons on this journey. Mindset is where our power aka our MAGIC lies. 

 

My hope is offer hope, perspective, and resources empowering all of us to CHOOSE to live our best lives despite being knocked down and broken at times. Darkness and pain exist, really bad things happen to good people. I am so grateful to be creating a platform with the Victim-Survivor-THRIVER Podcast where real people can share their SO WHAT, NOW WHAT, stories. So what does not negate the validity of the pain circumstances may inflict upon us but we have no power when we remain tangled up the hurt of our past. NOW WHAT is where we take our power back. We get to choose to learn, grow, and heal or remain bitter and broken. My hope is to shine a light on all that is possible when we seek the magic in the messy. Yet another message in a song is playing in my head as I type, NO ONE CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE EXCEPT FOR YOU.

CURE THAT FUNK

Do ever find yourself in a funk? I do. I think we all do. I recently found myself in a funk. No particular reason, I just wasn’t feeling it. Knowing I had a big day ahead I needed to shift my energy to take my day on with confidence, so I cranked up a tune and got my dance on! The Pointer Sister’s Jump and dancing like a goofball totally helped me find my groove. Life is better when you’re dancing! It gets those feel-good endorphins going. So, when in a funk dance!!!
