Hi Shenanigan Enthusiasts!
Here at the Funny Farm, we get by with a little help from our friends...whelp, I didn't do that on purpose but there it is, song lyrics pouring out of my fingertips! (click to listen). We have had some great friends come visit this week and more to come this summer! It makes my heart smile to share the magic of Montana and the sweet characters here at the funny farm with the people we love. The whole gang loves the extra love and grain!
I asked Kyler to pick up a pool for the pigs on the way home from his football work out Monday. Summer is here and Betty and June, "the girls" love to lay in the water and relax. He came home with two smaller pools thinking they could each have their own little "spa". Seems, they have grown more than we realized, so when June hopped into her's it folded like a taco! Because the water would eventually all drain out due to the taco crease, Rowdy then thought it was amazing fun to toss the empty pools down the hill with his horns! So, I got a bigger pool. The girls are happy piggies. Jeff called me outside just a bit ago to see Rowdy dipping his hooves in the water and eventually getting in. Always shenanigans!
Speaking of good friends and shenanigans, that is what summer is all about! We enjoyed all the shenanigans with good friends soaking up the sunshine, laughin' 'til we snorted, roasting smores, sipping moonshine and a little huckleberry lemonade/lemon drop (because huckleberry is a must in Montana), reminiscing down memory lane and making new memories too!
Thanks to other good friends coming to manage the funny farm shenanigans we are off to Mexico next week to celebrate life, love, and some big milestones including Kolton's high school graduation and our niece Addy's eighth grade graduation. No doubt I will have many more shenanigans to share about when we get back!
Shenanigans! Lemon drops with my favorite Huckleberry Vodka!
Evеrybody's got somebody to thank...
This morning after shoveling all the sh*t, I stopped a minute to take it all in. I looked around at the rolling green hills with mountains standing tall behind, I watched Lucy frozen in a stare off with a little cottontail bunny, a deer and her fawn tootled along on the hillside, elk sprinkled across the alfalfa fields below, the funny farm crew nudging me from every direction, and felt overwhelmed with GRATITUDE. My Church. In moments like this I thank God, for where I have been, where I am, and where I am going. I know there is purpose in all of it. The hard stuff paved the way to moments like this. Blessings and lessons. Will there be more hard stuff? No doubt there will. Now I know to embrace the hard days. Well, there goes my musical brain again! As I typed hard days this song started playing in my head.
HARD DAYS By Brantley Gilbert (click to listen)
So perfectly said, without the hard days we can't truly find our strength, or our purpose. Our growth, our joy, our confidence comes from overcoming the hard days. As I soaked it all up in my moment this morning the song Somebody to Thank started playing on the phone in my pocket. Gotta have my sh*t shoveling tunes! It was the perfect little tune for that moment, as I thanked God, I thought about all the people I have to thank for shaping my journey. Some were blessings and others were lessons, but I can thank all of them for who I am today. No matter who you are everybody's got somebody to thank. (Click to listen)
Make it a Good One...
Liberty, Freedom, and Opportunity are the blessings we will be celebrating this 4th of July weekend. These concepts are the foundation of our country and what allow all of us to pursue our dreams and strive to live our BEST LIFE. We look forward to celebrating our freedom with good friends and family! GOD BLESS THE USA.
It's not lost on me how blessed we are to have the freedom we do to CHOOSE to live our best lives, turning dreams into reality. This is a luxury in other places around the world. So, in honor of those who paved the way may we make it a good one!
