Love Like Crazy

Love Like Crazy

Hi Shenanigan Enthusiasts!

We blinked and another week has come and gone. As always, the shenanigans were in full swing here at the funny farm! Rowdy continues to find new things to buck over with his ever-growing horns! He is so proud of himself, but the rest of the gang is less than impressed! I have three cool old wire spools I keep in the funny farm for the goats to play king of the spool. They love to hop from spool to spool, sometimes using Rowdy’s back as a bridge. Other times they just love to lounge on top soaking up the sunshine. Well one by one, Rowdy has rolled them down the hill. Jeff picked up some stakes we hope to drive through the middle to keep them secure. Stay tuned for pole dancing goats! Rowdy also thinks it’s a blast to tumble the big water trough over when the water gets low enough. When he does that, it is shenanigans for everyone!! The pigs love more mud, and the goats think it’s a fun new jungle gym to climb on. The ‘pacas just roll with all of it however, if Rasta could roll his eyes at the madness, he no doubt would!

My ring camera has been off for over a month because life has been busy, and I haven’t changed out the battery. I finally got it up and going again this week. Oh, how I missed the magic sound on my phone telling me there is motion in the barn. It makes my heart smile to peek in on the shenanigans! I caught Rasta and Buddy wrestling one day, the goats are always climbing and head butting, the pigs just chill, and Rowdy stirs about making sure he hasn’t missed any treats in the feeders and sh*ts a lot! If only cow-pies where worth their weight in gold. Moo has found his way and earned the respect of the rest of the goats. Bonnie even snuggles with him sometimes. He is no longer the odd goat out. It used to break my heart to see him left out. As much as I wanted to, I knew it wasn’t a battle I could fight for little Moo. He had to find his own way, to find his own strength. All I could do is love him through it. It’s amazing how the lessons here at the funny farm translate to so many areas of life. What proves true time and time again, is life doesn’t just happen to us or to Moo, life happens for us and Moo. We have to keep on growing. Remember, this too shall pass, so embrace the good moments and believe you will get through the hard ones. We discover our strength, and our purpose when we overcome life’s challenges. So much to celebrate!

Forever Love

Speaking of celebrating, we are off to celebrate forever love this weekend! Our friends Tommy and Grace are saying I DO! We are grateful once again for our tribe holding the funny farm together while we are away. I love LOVE! These two love birds have known each other since middle school, fell in love in high school, and have navigated being apart over the last three years with Tommy in the Marine Corps. I see a lot of our young love journey in theirs. I shared these words from my heart when they got engaged. I hope someone who needs to hear them finds them here.

Getting to together young, some people say it makes it harder, I don’t think so. There are many blessings in growing up together and all relationships have challenges. I just wanted to share this advice and our love.

Bet on each other. Have faith. LOVE LIKE CRAZY! Fight it out, make up. Say sorry. Say I LOVE YOU. Choose each other even in the moments you don’t like each other. Communicate! Encourage each other. GROW. Grow as individuals and as a couple. Push each other. DREAM BIG. Be Grateful, show it. CELEBRATE the big stuff and the little stuff. It’s not if but when you will face storms in life. Embrace the struggles and KNOW you will be BETTER for all the challenges you overcome. The more you overcome together, the more love grows. Love is easy when it’s easy, but you find love on a whole new level when you get through the hard things. When hard seasons come, lean into each other and those who love you both. CHOOSE your tribe. Take advice from people who are where you want to be in life and love.

I know it’s hard to believe, my musical brain put a playlist together for them to navigate the seasons of life and love. Click here to listen. If I had to pick just three go to songs these would be them.

Love Like Crazy by Lee Brice

They called them crazy when they started out
Said seventeen's too young to know what loves about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That's crazy.....
Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and over use I Love You
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy (click to listen)

Ten by Jewel

Whoever said that love is easy, must have never been in love;
Sometimes its a land mine, one wrong step and it blows up;
A word, a look, lights a hidden fuse.
It's hard to see just what you have, when you're seeing red;
And it's easy to do something that you know you both will regret;
Better stop, think, count to ten before I leave.
One, I still wanna hate you;
Two, three, I still wanna leave;
Four, searching for that door;
Five, then I look into your eyes;
Six, take a deep breathe;
Seven, take a step back;
Eight, nine, I don't know why, we even started this fight;
By the time I get to ten, I'm right back in your arms again....

You can lose what you're not thankful for,
I don't want that to happen to you and me,
Better count my blessing.
One, you still move me;
Two, three, you send chills right through me;
Four, you keep me wanted more;
Five, when I look into your eye;
Six, you're my best friend;
Seven, that will never end;
Eight, nine, I don't know why, but thank God it happens every-time;
By the time I get to ten,
By the time I get to ten,
I can see how bless I've been.
I'll chose you all over again...(click to listen)

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship

Let 'em say we're crazy
I don't care 'bout that
Put your hand in my hand, baby
Don't ever look back
Let the world around us
Just fall apart
Baby, we can make it
If we're heart to heart
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever

Nothing's gonna stop us now...

Take it to the good times
See it through the bad times
Whatever it takes

Is what I'm gonna do

Whatever it takes

Most things in life and love are simple but not always easy. LOVE LIKE CRAZY sums up perfectly the simple things that will see love through the seasons we are all sure to navigate. I know when we say I DO it’s hard to imagine the moments we won’t like the love of our life, but I promise there will be those moments even in the best love stories. TEN perfectly sums up the full spectrum emotions that bubble up through the good times and the hard times. Remember why you said I do and choose each other all over again. NOTHING’S GONNA STOP US NOW, I love this one because it’s how we feel when we say I DO and then we have to keep putting our hands in one another’s through it all. Whatever’s it takes! And 80's love songs are the BEST!

Wonderful! Heartfelt and full of solid inspirations that we are all capable
Of achieving if we just remember who and why we said I DO to.
